313,560. Weiss Manfred Acel-Ús Femmuvei Reszvenytarsasag. June 14. 1929, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Gun cartridges. - A cartridge case comprises an aluminium tube 1 and an iron or steel base 2, 3 secured together by a rivet 5 and a packing ring 4. The base may be made in one piece, but is cheaper if made in two pieces as shown. The part 4 must be of high strength, great hardness, and high elasticity, the hardness being increased by the drawing process of making it, in order to prevent its deformation when the cartridge is fired, with consequent extraction difficulties after firing. During the extraction, the packing 4 transmits the pull evenly all round the aluminium tube 1.
