Abstract

311,893. Graham Amplion, Ltd., and Turner, P. K. April 8, 1928. Converting pulsating currents into steady continuous currents. - In apparatus for supplying anode current and grid voltage to thermionic valves from the mains through separate filter circuits, the filter circuits have a common lead in which alone the smoothing choke or chokes for the whole system are inserted. The Figure shows two rectifiers 2, 110 supplied by separate transformer secondaries 1<b>, 1<c>, smoothing condensers 10, 14 and chokes 6, 7. In a modification (Fig. 3, not shown) applied to a continuous current supply two resistances in series are connected across the mains and furnish the required voltages to the filters.
