Converting pulsating currents into steady continuous currents.-An arrangement for supplying wireless apparatus with steady high tension current from alternating current mains comprises rectifying, smoothing, and voltage regulating devices connected as shown. Filament supply for the rectifying valve V<1> is obtained from a transformer T<1>. The smoothing arrangement comprises a shunt condenser C<1>, chokes CH arranged upon a common iron core, and condensers C<2>, C<3> bridged across the output terminals DO<1>, DO<2>, DO<3> which are connected to' variable tappings on a wire or carbon resistance R. According to the Provisional Specification. neon &c. lamps may be used as resistances, and a step-up transformer may be provided between the mains and the rectifier.
