Abstract
311,088. Mobbs & Lewis, Ltd., and Mobbs, V. P. May 3, 1928. Lasts.-Relates to two-part hinged lasts furnished with a spring-controlled locking catch or like device adapted to allow the last to be forcibly broken, and wherein the parts are articulated by a hinge plate fixed in one part and pivoted in the other, the plate being housed in a longitudinal vertical slot in the last, and consists in that the locking catch or like device is contained wholly within the hinge plate. The hinge plate 1 is fixed in the rear part 2 of the last and pivoted on a pin 4 in the fore part 3. An opening 5 in the hinge plate houses a slide 6 urged forwardly by a spring 7 and co-operating with a pin 10 fixed in the fore part to maintain the parts in either the straightened position shown or the broken position. In a modification, the slide 6 is positioned forwardly of the pin 10, and urged rearwardly by a bow spring.
