Abstract
309,502. Burman, M. M. April 11, 1929. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, April 12, 1929]. Fats and fatty oils; lard.-Any fat or fatty oil is made of higher melting point, so as to preent leakage in storage and transport and admit of packing in paper &c. cartons, by adding thereto a quantity of the same fat or oil which has been hydrogenated, heating the mixture until it is homogeneous, and chilling suddenly to below the solidifying point. Lard, tallow, cocoanut oil, peanut oil, and ghee are specified as treated. For example, 10 per cent of dry hydrogenated ghee is mixed with ghee, or 12.5-15.0 per cent of hydrogenated cocoanut oil of M.P. 70‹ C. is added to cocoanut oil of M.P. 24.6‹ C. Specification 158,175 is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes the use for raising the M.P. of a fat or oil of a similar substance of higher M.P. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as aecepted.
