Abstract

308,804. Radtke, G., (Matuschek Metallindustrie G. Radtke). March 29, 1928, [Convention date]. Cleaning; tinning and coating by dipping.-In a process for tinning or coating iron articles with lead, the articles are pickled, rinsed in cold or hot water and then immersed in a boiling bath containing salts of metals of the iron group, preferably nickel or cobalt salts, and of a density not exceeding 10' BeaumÚ for about ten to thirty minutes. The articles are then, with the aid of known fluxes, coated with tin or lead by immersion in a molten metal bath. The cleaning bath may be neutralized when necessary by addition of ammonia.
