Abstract
308,634. Aktiebolaget Separator, and Flight, W. S. Dec. 22, 1927. Recovering wool fat.-Wool washing water is allowed to stand in a settling tank for a short period to permit the separation of its crystalline particles; it is then treated in one or two centrifuges to obtain the separation of the clayey matter and the wool grease. Where only one machine is used, it is of the type shown in Fig. 2. The liquid is introduced by the central pipe and passes to the chamber 2 between the hood 3 and the discs 4. The clayey matter and solid impurities are discharged through channels 5 and interchangeable nozzles 6. The main part of the water is discharged through outlets 7 from a zone outside the outer periphery of the body of discs, and the wool grease is discharged through outlets 8 from the centre of the bowl. Where two machines are used, the clayey matter isseparated out by the first, and the second is used to separate the water and the wool grease. The machines are of the type shown in Fig. 1, and have only two outlets, the lighter material being discharged through the outlet 7 and the heavier material through the nozzles 6.
