Abstract
308,605. Deutsche Wollenwaren Manufaktur Akt.-Ges. March 23, 1928, [Convention date]. Fats and fatty oils, extracting by solvents.- Wool-containing fabrics made from old and waste material and containing artificial silk waste, are prepared for dyeing by treatment with organic solvents or mixed solvents for cellulose derivatives such solvents being removable, and being subsequently removed, from the fabric by water below 60 C. Examples of solvents are, liquid esters of aliphatic fatty acids such as methyl acetate and ethyl acetate, liquid ketones such as acetone and methyl-ethyl ketone, chlorinated hydrocarbons such as isopropyl chloride and methylene chloride, or mixtures thereof. Chlorinated hydrocarbons used, being insoluble in water, must boil below 60 C., so as to volatilize when brought into contact with the warm water. The organic solvents remove oily and fatty constituents as well as the cellulose derivatives. The water removes any size, dressings, and dirt. Specifications 241,314 and 266,436 are referred to.
