Abstract
307,661. Schumann, 0. May 18, 1928. Movable-abutment type; working-fluid supply. -A pump 1 and engine 3 of the outwardly sliding abutment type have a common shaft. Air compressed by the pump passes through a passage 11 and a valve 15<1> into a mixing and combustion chamber 8 which extends across the working chamber of the engine and opens into it by a narrow slot. Fuel delivered by a pump 9 is injected into the chamber 8 by a nozzle 10 or may be introduced into the passage 11 by means of a long perforated pipe. Both pump and engine may be built in two or more stages.
