Building-blocks, special shages of; flooring blocks. - Apertured building-blocks for general constructions are formed with large apertures 2, Fig. 1, having a cross-section made up of various radii 21, 22, 23, and small apertures 4 between the large apertures, in order to preserve a nearly uniform thickness of material. The sides have flutings 5 for keying plaster or cement, or to form ornamentation on outside faces. The apertures may form ventilation flues or may contain sounddeadening material, or reinforcing bars may be grouted in them. Half and quarter blocks may be formed from the complete block. The blocks are made from plastic material such as terra cotta or cement. Fig. 3 shows a column reinforced by rods 7 and ties 8; grooves 9 may be provided for the ties. Figs. 5 and 7 show floors formed of rows of the blocks separated by concrete joists cast in situ.
