Abstract
305,921. Henschel & Sohn Ges. Feb. 11, 1928, [Convention date]. Addition to 292,976. Springs, arrangement of; axle attachments.- The spring suspension described in the parent Specification is provided with means for preventing undue deformation (leading to fracture) of the elastic connecting members, comprising rigid connecting means adapted to come into action after a predetermined deformation of the elastic members. Rubber rings e forming the elastic connecting members are secured near their inner peripheries by bolts d to rings c keyed to the axle tube a, and are secured near their outer peripheries by bolts i to rings h pivotally mounted on the spring ends. A steel ring f is secured between the inner edges of the rubber rings e, and has opposite radial projections g, adapted, when the rings e are excessively stressed under torsion, to engage the edges l of arcuate yokes k, which are secured by the bolts i to the outer ring h. In the event of breakage of the rubber rings e, the rigid parts ensure an emergency connection. Specification 259,322 is referred to.
