304,392. Vare, J. N. A. Oct. 28, 1927. Stiffeners.-A stiffener for the heels of fishermen's and like boots comprises a plate of copper 1 which is bent to a curve and placed around the rear of the last over the lining 4. The lower edge of the stiffener is then bent inwardly to form a flange 5, and the upper is positioned and secured to the insole by nails which secure the upper, stiffener, lining, and insole together.
