Abstract
302,816. Automatic Scale Co., Ltd., and Blick, E. L. Jan. 10, 1928. Scale-pans and the like.-A scale plate for use with weighing-apparatus comprises a flat member of porcelain, glass or like fragile material supported from the spider or cross in an horizontal position, and a separate vertically-disposed section of porcelain, glass or like fragile material arranged and fixed adjacent to an edge or marginal portion of the horizontal member, the means for securing the vertical section preferably permitting its adjustment so that it may be used with horizontal members of various thicknesses. As shown in Fig. 1, the vertical section 9 is secured by means of bolts 10 and vertical arms 8. Screws 7 pass through elongated holes in the arms 8 and secure the arms to the spider 6 whilst permitting vertical adjustment of the section 9. Screws 11 bear on the edge of the horizontal section 5 and maintain it in position. In a modification, Fig. 4, the arms 8 are provided with resilient hooks 8b to hold the vertical section instead of employing bolts. In a further modification, the vertical section is supported directly from the horizontal section by means of clips.
