Abstract

299,680. Blßthy, O. T. April 23, 1928. Addition to 269,130. Coils; exciting. - Exciting coils for turbogenerators as described in the parent Specification are arranged in radial slots, the projecting portions being secured by a ring surrounding them and in electric, connection with the iron of the field magnet and the outer layers of winding.. Coils 1, 2, 3 are inserted in radial slots in the field magnet m closed by wedges b as shown. A metal ring r, which may be formed as a. wire coil, surrounds the coils and keeps them in place. The ring r may be coned internally, the coils being correspondingly shaped or pieces s being interposed. In the arrangement described in Specification 271,834 a similar ring may be arranged inside the coils as well as outside.
