P o c k e t igniters, frictional.-The wick is adapted to be moved manually away from the ignition means so as to facilitate lighting a pipe, cigar, or the like. In the igniter shown, a wick-tube 27 is secured to a hollow pillar 22 mounted rotatably on a tubular member 21 within a compartment 15 above the fuel container 14. The pillar 22 is rotated against the action of a spring 25 by means of a member 29 secured to a slide 18 movable in a slot 17 in the wall of the compartment 15 to move the exposed end of the wick away from the frictional ignition means 32 to a position clear of the casing.
