Abstract

299,189. Harley, C. B. Oct. 25, 1927. Bottling. - An apparatus for filling bottles with measured quantities of fluid and which delivers to predetermined levels, comprises a transparent reservoir A with a visible calibration scale B. A two-way plug cock E has two independent bores and controls the vent-tube F and overflow-pipe H, the filling- tube G and the reservoirsupply-pipe J. On filling the reservoir through the pipe J, the overflow passes down the pipe H. On filling bottles with the plug E turned through 90‹, air passes up the pipe F until the liquid in the bottom reaches the end of the pipe and the system is airlocked. The amount of liquid run off is shown on the scale B. The filled bottle is then removed and the plug turned to open the pipe J, and a further bottle is placed in the filling position.
