Endless-chain machines; rolling-machines.-In the moulding of thin-walled sweetmeats the pressed or moulded article remains in situ upon one of the mould halves until sufficiently cool to withstand deformation on handling. The rope of plastic material is passed between rollers b which reduce it to a flat band d approximately the same thickness as the finished article, and then is moulded between the mould wheel e and the cooperating stamping members f which are raised by the cam g. The articles are air-cooled while the members f remain in the raised position and when cooled are delivered to the shoot i at the point m. In a modified form two co-operating wheels are employed instead of a wheel and chain.
