Abstract

296,982. Austermann, J. B. Sept. 10, 1927, [Convention date]. Wheels with provision for creeping of detachable rims.-To relieve tyres from sudden driving and braking stresses, the rim 3, which fits closely on the fixed rim 1, is formed with lugs 4 adapted for limited circumferential movement in recesses 2 in the fixed rim, cushioning-springs 5 being fitted between the lugs 4 and the end-walls of the recesses 2. Lateral displacement is prevented by side-plates 8 and bolts 7. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes also the use of balls or rollers fitted between the rims to reduce friction. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
