Abstract

296,196. Miller, H. C., and Dainton, E. H. Aug. 30, 1927. Jacks. - Fluid-actuated jacks of the kind in which the reservoir surrounds the ram cylinder have the ram cylinder formed as a coupling member for securing the reservoir casing between the base and a cap or cover. The ram cylinder 2 is screwed into the base 1 and its upper end is fitted with a screwed cap 5. The reservoir casing 4 is fitted in recesses 7, 8 in the base 1 and screwed cap 5. Packing 15 is inserted in the recesses. In a telescopic jack a screwed sleeve projecting downwards from the cap is screwed on to the outer ram cylinder.
