Abstract
295,531. Cutler, A. Nov. 23, 1927. Card stands.-A strut for a picture &c. frame is detachably hinged to the frame by a pair of projecting pins d, secured by a plate d<1> to the strut c, engaging a pair of apertured or indented ears a<1> formed on a plate a secured to the frame b, the ears a<1> being of a springy nature so that the ears can be moved towards or away from each other to allow the engagement. One or both ears may be bent or inclined at a<3> and provided with a finger piece a<2> to facilitate, engagement. The strut is carried above the pins d to limit the movement of the strut. In a modification the plate d<1> carrying the pins d may extend upwardly for this purpose. In a further modification the plate a with ears a<1> is secured to the' strut and is engaged by a pair of L-shaped pins projecting from the frame back. The part of the hinge associated with the back may be duplicated so that' the strut can be attached thereto to support the frame in either of two positions.
