Horns, construction of.-A portion of the horn has one or more of its walls made of flexible material such as fabric or paper in order to respond to the lower frequencies which may be partially lost due to the vibration of the air column. In one form, the intermediate section has two walla B of wood and two walls B<1> of fabric or paper, and the curved metal section C may be lined with baize or like material which tends to absorb the higher frequencies. The inlet end A of the horn is made of polished metal, and the flared mouth D is of wood. In another form, all four walls of the intermediate portion are made of flexible material stretched over a frame, and a constriction may be provided to increase the air pressure in this portion.
