Abstract
294,927. Mailliet, P. R. Aug. 1, 1927, [Convention date]. Portable hand pumps.-In an atomizer for toilet purposes, in which an air-pump body 7 is surrounded by a liquid receptacle 20, the liquid is ejected through the tube 21 and atomized by a stream of air blown transversely past the mouth of the tube and through an outlet orifice 23 formed in a ring 4 of truncated conical form fixed to the outside. The piston 1, which carries a cup leather 16 is pressed down against the action of a spring 5 to force air past a spring-pressed valve 12 and through a tube 9 into the air chamber 10 at the top of the container 20. When not in use, a screwed socket 1<1> on the piston is screwed on the threaded block 2<1> so that a conical ring 3 engages the ring 4 to close the orifice 23. A cap 6<1> on the piston is provided with a vent 6 which is closed by a finger while the apparatus is in use but. acts as vent to relieve pressure when out of use.
