Electric stoves.-Relates to apparatus wherein the resistance element or elements c are embedded in one or more blocks b of refractory insulating material held in a supporting frame a. The blocks are imperforate on the side which supports a utensil to be heated and are provided with a plurality of holes f on the other side to expose the resistances for grilling or toasting by direct radiation. A reflector may be provided which is removed when toasting or grilling is taking place.
