Abstract

Armatures and field magnets, short-circuited screens or cores of.-In an alternating current dynamo-electric machine having a ring wound stator, a low resistance squirrel cage winding is provided behind the stator core or between it and the frame of the machine to compensate the magneto motors force of the conductors lying between the core and the frame. As shown, the laminated core 2 carrying a gramme ring winding 4 is supported from the frame 1 by non-magnetic brackets 3. The squirrel cage winding comprises bars 6 located behind the stator core, a number of these bars being bolted to brackets 7 which in turn are bolted to end rings 8, while the remaining bars are bent. over and bolted directly to the end rings.
