Rollers.-Sections of rollers in machines such as drawing-frames, ribbon-lap machines, slubbing and like frames, mules, and ring spinning and doubling frames, are coupled to each other or to a driving or other part by means of a rod a provided with a cylindrical part or two or more coaxial cylindrical parts to ensure alignment, and with single or multiple screw threads b or with slots q and rollers s, Fig. 12, or a, spigot w, Fig. 9, on one section or part provided with the cylindrical part or parts and the slots q and rollers s to engage the coupled section or part. A sleeve or collar c surrounding or integral with the rod serves as a connecting means and distance piece, and may also serve as a neck or bearing piece, or the adjacent ends of sections may butt against each other as shown in Fig. 4.
