Abstract

290,888. Yuill, W. M. Sept. 26, 1927. Lids.-An appliance for pressing and cooking hams &c. of the kind in which the meat is enclosed in a vessel or mould provided with a lid or cover which telescopes into or over the vessel and is held down by spring pressure, is characterized by laterally extending projections 7 on one of the telescoping parts, and coil springs 9 secured to the other part, the springs being provided with loops or eyes 10 for engagement with the projections 7. The projections 7 are preferably tubular and are integral with a bar or strap 6 secured to the cover 5, the springs 9 being attached to staples, hooks or eyes 8 secured to the vessel 4. As shown, the cover 5 fits within the vessel 4 which is provided with a strengthening band 11.
