Portable endless-belt elevators ; feeding-device ; directing.-Apparatus for shovelling up coal, &c. elevating it, and loading it on to a conveyer or into trams comprises a base A from which extends forwardly a jigging shovel B and on which is mounted an inclined elevator D of the scraper band &c. type. The shovel is reciprocated by rocking arms 4 which are actuated by a motor 2 through transmission mechanism 3. The upper part of the framework of the elevator D is adjustable about a pivot 11. Drums E driven by the motor 2 are provided for moving the apparatus by hauling. Alternatively, the apparatus may be moved by driving wheels or endless bands on which it is supported.
