Steam-generator furnaces. - In a water-tube boiler furnace of the kind heated by pulverized fuel supplied by burners and by the combustion of fuel on a grate, the pulverized fuel is burnt over a multiple retort underfeed stoker. As shown in Fig. 1, the boiler 4 forms the roof of the furnace 3 provided with the underfeed stoker 12. Pulverulent-fuel burners 15 of the turbulent type are arranged in the front wall of the furnace above the grate level. These burners are supplied directly from pulverizers 17 with fuel and air, while a further supply of air is supplied from the regenerator 9 to the casing surrounding the burners. The walls of the furnace may be cooled by water or steam tubes.
