Colour photography; dye toning.-The doublecolouring of the superimposed two-colour images according to the parent Specification is produced either by first converting the silver image into a metallic mordant which holds the dye loosely, such as vanadium ferrocyanide and dyeing the mordanted image with the first colour, or by dyeing the image with a loose dye of the first colour, such as a pinatype dye, the dyed image produced by either method being then washed until the half-tones are free from dye, whereafter the image is dved with the second colour. When the vanadium method is used, the dyes employed may, for example, be rhodamine red and thioflavine yellow.
