Cases.-The insulation of a high-tension electric conductor 1 in switchgear from another member 3 is effected by an impregnated paper tube 2 and a tinfoil sleeve 9. In order to prevent a corona. discharge from the edges of the shield 9, they are covered with material 12 such as a paste of mica dust and shellac subsequently hardened by heat and having a greater dielectric strength than the tube 2, and the difference of these strengths being greater than that between the tube 2 and the ambient fluid.
