Abstract
289,098. Berhenhoff &. Drebes Akt.-Ges. April 21, 1927, [Convention date]. Drawing wire.-In a continuous wire drawing machine the drawing-drums 1<a>, 1<b>, Fig. 3, and the dies 3 are supported from overhead and are submerged in a cooling medium in a tank 5, the drums being also driven from overhead. The driving mechanism and the cooling tank are relatively displaceable to allow of access to the dies &c. for threading &c. The driving mechanism may be enclosed in an oil &c. bath 8 journaled in the cooling tank and able to be swung therein by a lever, a balance weight 15 being provided. In a modification a series of drums 20, Fig. 6, disposed in a circle are driven by a motor 26 mounted on the casing 8 and serving as a counterweight. The drawing-dies may be reciprocated in known manner.
