Abstract
287,986. Brockies, A. C. Jan. 21, 1927. Electromagnetic interrupter.- A buzzer or interrupter, for producing warning sounds and especially applicable for telephone calling purposes, comprises a contact carried by an armature pivoted intermediate its length and acted on by an adjustable tuning spring to one side of the pivot and at the opposite side by an electromagnet. The core of the coil 5 and a terminal pillar 1a are clamped between a plate 3 and angle support 2 by a tension screw 4, removal of which allows these parts to be disassembled. The parts 1a, 2, 3 are non- magnetic. The armature 6 is secured by rivets 8 to a flat spring 77, the rivet heads bearing against the support 2 and constituting the armature pivots. Tuning and contact springs 11, 12, respectively, are secured as by screws 13 to bosses or on washers 14 on the armature, and cooperate with screws 15, 16 which can be adjustably locked, upon blocks 17, 18. The block 17, the main frame, and terminal block 24 are insulated from the base, and one end of coil 5 is connected by lead 20 to the pillar 1a, whereas the other end 23 is insulated from the pillar and connected to the block 24.
