Threads, treating with liquids.-For the purpose of improving the flexibility and strength of artificial silk, the latter while still on the spinning bobbins, and after washing, is treated with oil, oil emulsion, soap solution, &c., by which treatment the silk is able to withstand twisting, re-winding, &c., without breakage of individual filaments occurring. The silk may be wound on perforated bobbins; and a solution of a soap or a textile oil is suitable for the treatment. Specification 244,324, [Class 2 (ii), Cellulose &c.], is referred to.
