Abstract
285,221. Gray, T. F. Jan. 14, 1927. Sliding valves.-In full-way valves of the parallel slide type having a partition plate across the interior of the casing with the seating passage therein, the partition plate d, Figs. 2 and 3, is formed integral with the casing a and is fitted with seating rings f for the sliding discs g, which are actuated by spindles mounted as shown so as to be clear of the partition plate. The seat opening may be of less diameter than the passages b, c, and mav be rounded or double-conical, as shown, to give an increased velocity of flow through the plate. The discs g are mounted on yokes i so as to be capable of limited angular movement by means of rounded surfaces with springs, as shown in Fig. 2, or double conical projections h, Fig. 3, and spring-pressed conical pins n. The yokes i are large enough to protect the valve discs. Opposite sides of the valve may be connected by a valve-controlled bye-pass passage.
