Abstract
284,200. Dittmar, U. Jan. 24, 1927, [Convention date]. Rollers and roller heads. - In spinning- machines wherein subsidiary rollers are mounted between the drawing-rollers, the bottom subsidiary roller c is driven positively at various parts of the length of the drawing-apparatus and may extend the whole length of the apparatus or be formed in separately driven sections. As shown, it is driven from a main bottom roller by toothed gearing, the intermediate wheel b thereof being carried by an arm f adjustably secured to a standard g or to the existing stands, but a belt drive may be used. The working-surfaces of the subsidiary rollers are preferably spaced so that the slivers are drawn without being positively clamped, and are preferably transversely fluted to straighten the fibres.
