Abstract
283,165. Allgemeine Elektricitõts- Ges. Jan. 5, 1927, [Convention date]. Track apparatus actuating signals on trains.- Electromotive force induced in a train carried circuit, including a generator of high frequency current a and a primary winding c, which coacts with a secondary winding d on the track, is applied to a glow discharge lamp l across the terminals of which there is maintained from a battery h or a generator of either direct or alternating current a voltage which is intermediate between that at which the lamp becomes luminous as the voltage is raised and that at which it ceases to glow as the voltage is reduced. When thus rendered luminous by a momentary increase of voltage on passing a. track device, the lamp continues to glow and a relay b in series therewith remains energized. Fig. 1 shows a circuit for use with a direct current generator g supplying the lamp l and relay b, the voltage induced from the track being supplied through a transformer t which may have a compensating winding 3. Fig. 2 shows a circuit in which the alternator a energizes both the primary coil c coucting with the track-coil d and the lamp l and relay b. The relay b serves also as a transformer.
