Abstract

282,419. Parker, R. B. Dec. 14, 1926, [Convention date]. Retorts.-A grate strucure for use in retorts comprises a series of boxes 9 supported on beams 8 and supplied with gas or liquid, which may be combustible, and supporting perforated hollow grate bars 2 to which gas. &c. is supplied through apertures 11 in the boxes. The boxes may be arranged in groups each supplied with gas or liquid by a valve-controlled pipe 12. The partitions 10 separating the boxes in each group are perforated at 11. Specifications 282,415 and 282,416 are referred to.
