Abstract

Projectile fuzes.- Relates to time fuzes provided with a chamber into which the gases from the fuze expand before escaping to the outside, and consists mainly in the provision of a nozzle subjected to suction from outside to ensure constancy of burning of the fuze. As shown, the time ring B carries the inertia igniting device b, which causes ignition of the fuze composition always at one end, ensuring combustion always in one direction only; and the gases, after expanding info a chamber C, pass through a nozzle D subjected to suction from outside by means of a nose cap E with rearwardly directed outlets e. The time ring B is held down by a nut. B<1> and a spring washer B<2>. A percussion fuze may be provided in the base of the time fuze, said percussion fuze comprising an ordinary momentum striker and inertia safety ring.
