Abstract
453,685. Projectile fuzes. REMONDY, L. E., 42, Rue d'Anjou, Paris. Dec. 10, 1935, No. 34237. Convention date, Dec. 20, 1934. [Class 9 (i)] A percussion fuze is provided with an auxiliary device comprising a spring striker c<1> held cocked by a fusible or like joint or member f on one side of a wall a', and a combustible charge B on the other side of the wall adapted to be ignited by the flash from the percussion fuze, for example A, Fig. 2, and after a given delay to transmit sufficient heat to disintegrate the member f and release the striker c<1>. In one form, Fig. 1, the striker fires a percussion cap C at once to explode the projectile, the auxiliary device acting as a firing delay. In another form, Fig. 2, the striker c<1> remains supported by a shoulder h and requires a second impact to dislodge it from the shoulder before it can fire the percussion cap C, the auxiliary device having then a delay arming action with respect to the striker c<1>.
