Abstract

Collapsable tables convertible into receptacles. - A travelling- trunk is provided with devices by means of which the body, lid, or tray is convertible into a table for use as in a picnic. Figs. 1 and 2 show a trunk consisting of a body 1, with a partition 2 forming a compartment 3 adapted to receive four small folding chairs 3<a>, and a removable lid 4, adapted to be mounted on legs 8, which are hinged to the lid, or are let into blocks or straps glued or otherwise secured in the corners. In a modification, Fig. 8, the legs 8<b> are inserted in the corners of the body 1<a>, and the lid 4 in its normal place forms the table top. Shoulders 20 may be formed on the legs. Flaps 16, 16a afford access to the interior of the trunk when it is in use as a table. In another modification, the legs are hinged to the tray of a trunk, and are arranged so a sto nest together when folded down. A stretcher, such as 10, Fig. 1, fits diagonally in the trunk.
