Abstract
280,961. Williams, H. R. Nov. 20, 1926, [Convention date]. Catamenial appliances; pads.-An absorbent pad for catamenial or other purposes comprises a layer 2 of absorbent and readily disintegrable felted pulp fibre which is coated with a highly absorbent vegetable paste or powder 3 such as potato flour except at the side edges 4. A second layer 1 of absorbent material is superimposed and the whole is sprayed or otherwise treated with rape-seed or other water-repellent oil. The pad is then wrapped in a sheet of gauze, the projecting ends of which serve for binding and attachment.
