Abstract
280,022. Lee, W. Oct. 20, 1926. Controlling consuming devices.-A multi-position turn switch for regulating the brightness of lamps &c. has condensers incorporated therewith. A pair of condensers e, fare located in a base 6 having fixed contacts a, b, d in one plane and a contact c in another plane. Movable contacts 2, 3, 4 are located in the same plane as contacts a &c. and a movable contact 3<a> is located in the plane of contact c, three movable contacts are connected together and are turned by a handle h. The contacts a, c are included in the lamp circuit. In the position shown the lamp is "off." A quarter rotation counterclockwise places contacts 3, 4 in engagement with contacts a, b and connects condenser e in circuit to give a dim light, a further rotation connects condensers c, f in parallel to give a brighter light, and a still further rotation places contacts 2, 3a in engagement with contacts a, c to give " full " light.
