Abstract
279,460. Siemens & Halske Akt.-Ges. Oct. 20, 1926, [Convention date]. Liquid meters.-A. valve device for use in connection with liquid meters has a valve controlling a branch conduit actuated by the flow of liquid through the main conduit and arranged so that the branch conduit is closed when there is a full flow through the main conduit. In the form shown in the Figure the valve m controlling a conduit n leading to the accumulator or storage tank is connected by a lever o pivoted at p to a spindle carrying a valve a. The valve a seats on the end of the inlet pipe and has a central aperture d so that when the flow is small the valve closes but permits liquid to pass through the aperture d into the casing c and out through the conduit n. In a modification, the two valves are arranged on a common spindle, and in a further modification a third valve closes the entrance to the pipe k leading to the meter when the valve m is open.
