Heels.-In women's boots and shoes fitted with wooden heels, for example, semi - Louis heels, and in which the sole 3, Fig. 4, is cut away on opposite sides of the heel seat to form a tongue 4 over which the heel is fitted, the heel is provided at the front end of the seat with a groove or rabbet 2, Fig. 1, so as to permit the ends 5, Figs. 4 and 5, of the sole at each side of the tongue to overlap, and to be supported by, the heel. The overlapping parts may be square, as shown in Fig. 5, rounded, or bevelled. Specification 262,175 is referred to.
