Cut - out arrangements.-A safety device for interrupting the current supply to a R÷ntgen tube in the event of excessive increase of the current intensity such as occurs in the case of a short circuit or of breakdown of the resistance of the tube comprises an electromagnet switch e included in the primary circuit of the supply transformer b, and coupled to the secondary circuit of the supply transformer through a transformer c, the coils of which are insulated to prevent the passage of high voltage current. The switch e is an automatic circuit breaker which must be re-set by hand; it does not respond under normal intensity conditions, but is actuated if the intensity increases excessively as a result, for example, of a person p touching simultaneously both high-voltage terminals of the transformer b. The device is also applicable to tube supply systems in which one terminal is earthed.
