Abstract
278,251. Turnell, H. G. March 14, 1927. Controllers, liquid. - A liquid - resistance motorstarter consists of a vessel of alkaline water containing a row of immersed metal plates 5 - - 11 connected to a multiple-contact switch 12, whereby the different sections of the liquid can be cut-out in succession. When the switch arm is brought to the " off " position shown the motor field winding is left in a closed circuit with the armature through all the resistance sections. Specification 256,713, [Class 38 (v), Electric switches &c.], is referred to.
