Abstract
277,818. Robinson, G. B. Oct. 11, 1926. Shoots.-In a coal &c. shoot A flexible dependent retarding aprons B are attached to fixed cross-bars C and supported by transverse bars E which can be raised and lowered to regulate the resistance which each apron offers. The bars E are secured to side members F, which are connected to the shoot by parallel pivoted arms G. The shaft K of the upper arms G carries a weighted lever H. When the inclination of the shoot is increased, the members F are moved towards the shoot, and the resistance of the aprons is increased. In a modification each bar E, Fig. 4, is adjustable in slots M in the uprights D which carry the. bar C. The aprons are preferably built, up of alternate layers of indiarubber and canvas vulcanized together.
