Abstract

276,598. Pell, W. Guy-, and Brown, S. J. May 14, 1927. Percussive hand tools. - The striker 7 is mounted at one end of a lever 9 pivoted at 10 and moved by a cam 17 against an adjustable spring 12 the stroke of which is less than that of the striker. The cam consists of a buttress threaded worm coacting with a correspondingly shaped rack 16 and is rotated by a handle 18. Rotation of the tool holder is also effected by the same worm, which engages a worm wheel 24. In a modified form the tool holder may be pivoted to the lever 9, which may be constituted by a leaf spring.
