Abstract
273,027. Crowter, G. E. March 31, 1926. Surface markings.-A road &c. marking device comprises a body part a adapted to be embedded in the road surface, to which it is keyed by a flange &c. b, and having on its upper surface a shallow recess d to receive a removable flat or dished disc &c. e. The disc e is secured to the body a by one or more screws passing through the disc and engaging bosses in the body, or by a screw thread on a stud on the disc or on the rim of the disc engaging a corresponding thread on the body. A flange t may project beyond the rim thread on the disc e to form a shoulder u, and a washer r is placed between the disc and the body. In a further form the body has a plain tapered recess with a domed bottom into which fits a disc which is retained by its own weight. The disc may have manipulating holes s. The parts a, e may be formed as arrows or letters, and a complicated outline may be built up of such parts in sections.
