Coats, overcoats, waistcoats, trousers; linings.- In outer garments for men and boys, including pants, coats, overcoats, and vests, the parts are made of two or more superposed pieces of material of the same kind with the edges seamed together, or a lining of ordinary material may be employed with insertions of the outer material at the parts most subject to wear. Fig. 2 shows the parts of a pair of knickers made of two layers M, M<1>, of the same material the latter acting as a lining, the layers being seamed together at 1 either by stitches or adhesive. The two-fold material may used for the backs of the legs only where the wear is heaviest. In Fig. 4, the material M<3> forms an insertion in a lining L of ordinary material. The inserted material may stretch right across the part. The lining, with the insertion, may be used with other two layers of outer material.
